Pascualito Rambert, el nuevo Berizzo de la Selección Chilena

El 12 de agosto de 2007 Marcelo Bielsa debía aterrizar en Chile para comenzar su etapa en la Roja. Un problema en el pasaporte hizo que se atrasara un día, por lo que en Pudahuel solo aparecieron Luis Bonini, Eduardo Berizzo y Alfredo Jesús Berti. El exvolante central de Newell’s y Boca Juniors iba a ser la mano derecha del Loco, sin embargo un “problema familiar muy complicado” hizo que el Pelado Berti volviera a Argentina tan solo una semana después de llegar a Chile. Un par de entrenamientos en las canchas del Aeropuerto fue todo lo que pudo hacer en la Roja. Su rol lo comenzaría a ocupar Eduardo Berizzo con mayor preponderancia, al que se sumaría José Daniel Morón, el Preparador de Arqueros con contrato vigente con la ANFP. El Toto, con toda la confianza del rosarino, llegó a dirigir un torneo como DT principal.

Hoy a Berizzo le pasará algo similar en la Selección. El ex O’Higgins Mariano Uglessich no se sumó al proyecto, por lo que debió llamar a su staff a su excompañero en River Plate Sebastián Pascual Rambert, quien venía de ser ayudante de Daniel Garnero en el Libertad de Marcelo Díaz. El rol que Morón tenía con Bielsa, será para el exbarcelonista Roberto Tito Bonano. Otro de los asesores del Toto será Ernesto Marcucci, exespía de la selección chilena de Bielsa entre 2007 y 2010, y que Berizzo reclutó para O’Higgins en 2013. En Sevilla llegó incluso a dirigir al equipo cuando el exdefensor zurdo estuvo ausente por su cáncer de próstata.

De todos los nombres, es el de Sebastián Rambert el que llama la atención. Después del Mundial de EEUU 1994 se convirtió por un año en el jugador más prometedor del fútbol argentino, al nivel de Ariel Burrito Ortega. En Independiente a Pascualito le salía todo. Con un gol suyo ante Huracán fueron campeones del Clausura 1994, mientras su definición de globito ante Carlos Navarro Montoya en la final de la Supercopa 1994 ante Boca Juniors es un tanto que hasta hoy se repite seguido en Argentina. Ese mismo equipo, de Garnero, Gustavo López, Burruchaga, Diego Cagna, entre otros, también sumaría en 1995 la Recopa Sudamericana en Japón ante el Vélez Sarsfield de Carlos Bianchi, campeón de América ante Sao Paulo y campeón del mundo ante el Milan.

 Esa Copa, que Colo Colo le había ganado a Cruzeiro en 1992, fue una de las últimas funciones de Rambert en Independiente.  Una lesión, la primera de su carrera, en la Copa Libertadores de 1994 ante Peñarol, frenaría su constante ascenso. Aun así, en plena recuperación, el Inter de Milán desembolsó 6,5 millones de dólares para llevárselo al Calcio. En el paquete iba también un casi desconocido Javier Zanetti, figura en un partido de Banfield de Boca, amigo de niñez de Rambert y con el mismo representante que Pascualito. El delantero nunca debutaría oficialmente en los lombardos. Zanetti se convertiría en el jugador con más partidos en el club.

La vida de futbolista fue injusta con Rambert. Para fines de 1994 ya era seleccionado argentino en el proceso que comenzaba Daniel Passarella. Estaba valorado por sobre el Piojo López, Hernán Crespo o Marcelo Delgado. Para muchos iba a ser el acompañante de Gabriel Batistuta en las clasificatorias a Francia 1998. En el debut de Passarella ante el Chile de Mirko Jozic en el Nacional, Rambert fue la gran figura del partido anotándole uno de los tantos a Marcelo Ramírez para el 3-0 final, en un equipo donde además estaba Ariel Ortega, Roberto Ayala, Marcelo Gallardo, Nelson Vivas, el propio Zanetti, además del capitán Marcelo Espina. Ese 1994 Rambert estuvo en el equipo ideal de América.

La estadía en la Albiceleste fue corta, pero con gran promedio mientras estuvo en condiciones físicas. Jugó ocho partidos e hizo cuatro goles, siendo titular en la Copa Confederaciones 1995 haciendo tridente con Ortega. y Batistuta. En el Inter de Milán solo estuvo seis meses. En enero de 1996 se fue al Zaragoza de España. En la Liga empezó con todo, con tres goles en cinco partidos. Finalmente solo sumaría cinco tantos en 20 partidos. Uno de esos había sido al Real Madrid. Tenía ofertas de Europa, pero una refundación de Boca Juniors, de la mano de Maradona, Latorre, Caniggia, Cagna y un joven Riquelme lo hicieron volver a Argentina en 1996. Iba a ser uno de los delanteros de ese equipo, el resto que se las arreglara. Le llamaron el Dream Team, un equipo soñado que con el Bambino Vieira no ganó nada, pero que plantó la semilla para varios que serían multicampeones con Carlos Bianchi. Para ese proceso Rambert ya no estaría, pese a hacer 11 goles en 31 partidos con los xeneizes. Se iría sin escalas al River Plate de Ramón Díaz, Marcelo Salas y Eduardo Berizzo. Cruzó la vereda por tres millones y medio de dólares en 1997. Tenía que ser el reemplazante del Matador, vendido con antelación a la Lazio de Italia.

En River Plate llegaron las mayores lesiones de su carrera. Pasó más en la recuperación que en la cancha, pero siempre se las arreglaba para hacer uno que otro gol en Liga, Mercosur o Libertadores. Era joven aún. Había debutado a los 17 en 1992 y recién estábamos en 1999. Con los millonarios hizo 5 goles en 37 partidos y volvería a Independiente en el 2000 a reverdecer laureles. La segunda parte en el Rojo no fue buena. Un gol en 11 partidos en años en que también estuvo Sebastián Rozental y Mario Núñez. En 2001 iría a Grecia y en 2003 se retiraría en Arsenal de Sarandí con tan solo 29 años. Las lesiones solo lo habían dejado jugar tres partidos.

Comenzó a trabajar con Garnero como DT, pero siempre quiso hacerlo con Eduardo Berizzo. Cuando estaban conformando el cuerpo técnico, Ramón Díaz lo llamó para que fuera su ayudante en San Lorenzo al mismo tiempo que Bielsa llamaba a Berizzo para venir a Chile el 2007. Sus caminos se separaron, pero ambos comenzaron su carrera en solitario casi al mismo tiempo. Pascualito agarró Aldosivi en 2012, tuvo un intento en Sam Felipe el 2014, y luego estuvo en Crucero del Norte y Estudiantes de San Luis hasta 2017. Pronto volvería a trabajar con Garnero, con quienes fueron tetracampones con el Libertad de Paraguay. Hoy es el turno de volver con Berizzo. El DT que lo llamó, igual como Marcelo Bielsa lo llamó a él hace 15 años. De una se tomó el Avioncito, como se le conoció a su festejo. Era el cuerpo técnico que siempre quisieron conformar.
